Gingerbread Cookies

A couple of weeks ago the girls asked if we could build a gingerbread house over the holidays. I agreed, but as we thought about it more, we realized that the kids wouldn't actually eat most of the (candy) decorations. We settled for gingerbread cookies instead, topped with Steve's delicious icing. Thumbs up from everyone!

Steve was in charge of baking the cookies and making the icing while the girls and I walked Lucy. Once we got back and the cookies had cooled, the girls took care of the decorating (and tasting!).

It was a fun family activity -- perhaps a new holiday tradition?
