January started with Jessica getting her ears pierced and the girls going to see live theatre for the first time. I started a drawing and painting course at St Lawrence College, and at the end of the month my blog turned 5 years old!
In February Emily lost her first tooth, the girls tried skating for the first time, and they both worked hard on their Valentine's cards. Our dear Grand-Papa also turned 65.
March was filled with many family gatherings, including ones for my birthday and Lorelei's 2nd birthday. Emily and Jessica had their first dental checkup, and I showed off my art from my college course.
April started with Easter celebrations, followed by Jessica's second live theatre experience to see Dora The Explorer. We celebrated Tante Becca's birthday and started getting ready for our trip to Germany!
May was an exciting month: Jessica and I went to Germany! We flew in planes, saw family, visited castles, rocks, old houses, and waterfalls, and most importantly, we celebrated Oma's 80th birthday. Last but not least, we celebrated Jessica's 4th birthday, Spiderman style!
In June there were more birthday celebrations for Jessica and cousin Jack. We had a wonderful time on Father's Day at Grammy's cottage. Emily graduated from Kindergarten and was very happy on her last day of school! At the end of the month we made our annual trip to the strawberry fields.
On July 2nd we welcomed cousin Caleb to the world. Jessica started art classes at 4Cats -- her first experience with drop offs. We did a lot of swimming this month!
August was one of the best and busiest months! Steve and I celebrated 7 years of marriage, and then we visited Grammy in Cambridge (which included trips to Waterloo Park, The Museum, and The Butterfly Conservatory). Emily had a Frozen birthday party as well as a big family gathering for her 6th birthday. Let's not forget a beach day and general summer fun.
In September I blogged about the girls' first hair salon experience and Caleb's baptism. Emily and Jessica started school! We celebrated Grand-Maman's birthday and me and Steve being a couple for 15 years.
October started with a trip to the Bowmanville Zoo and a couple of Thanksgiving celebrations. Steve and I went on our first daytime date while the girls were at school. Speaking of school, I blogged about our before and after school routines. October ended with two of our favourite celebrations: Daddy's birthday and Halloween!
In November we continued to celebrate Daddy's birthday with both families. We took the girls to the Museum of Nature in Ottawa for the second time. Steve got on the high school supply list and started teaching! Last but not least, I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Sarah.
Finally, December was all about Christmas! We decorated our tree and got everything ready. We had a lot of fun at Emily and Jessica's school open house and holiday show. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were spent just the way we like them: surrounded by family, food, and fun.
We have no major life events lined up for 2016, so we'll get to take our time and enjoy the small stuff. I'm looking forward to it!
Happy New Year from Nathalieland!
