Field Trip - Maple Madness

Today Emily's class went on a field trip to Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. This is the same place she went on her first field trip, but this time it was to visit the sugar bush and learn how maple syrup is made. There was a puppet show, a tractor-drawn wagon ride, and lots of neat information about maple syrup and the history of making it. It was a very fun outing!

Easter 2016

From colouring eggs to eating chocolate to family visits, the girls have had a fun-filled Easter weekend. Here is a (long!) photo recap of our celebrations.

We had visitors from Oshawa on Saturday; highlights included cousin Brandt trying out Ice Hockey on the Nintendo, and the boys heading out to watch an OHL hockey game (Kingston vs. Oshawa!).

Goal!

Sunday was all about Easter egg and basket hunts. Emily continued her tradition of declaring that this was "the best Easter EVER!"

The loot (Saturday night)

Breakfast: maple carrot muffins. Yum!

Searching for eggs around the house!

Finding baskets

New frog/minnow catching nets!

Testing out her new bow and arrow
(A big hit!)

These girls still love bubbles!

Bows and arrows fun for parents too!
Best $1.50 spent this Easter.

In the afternoon we headed to Grand-Maman and Grand-Papa's house for more Easter goodies.

The girls even got new Lego sets! What a treat.

Supper time!

The best part of the day (in my opinion) was the weather: absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for spending time outdoors.

Happy Easter!
