Nathalieland Update - Girls/Football/Valentines/Birthday

Black and White. Last week the girls came down dressed in all black-and-white outfits. They are sometimes just too cute for words!

Super Bowl Celebration. Although none of the teams we were cheering for played in the Super Bowl, we still gathered with our cousins and family to watch! It was nice to see everyone and celebrate cousin Colin's 11th.

Happy Heart Day. Valentine's Day kind of crept up on us! The kids meant to make cards but didn't get around to it (which is fine because barely any students gave cards this year). Steve and I were spoiled by our parents (ha!) with chocolate; we just celebrated with a homecooked steak dinner and chocolate cake dessert.

Cards & treats from the grandparents ♥

Cooking me steak on Valentine's Day since 2004!

Trying "cake in a frying pan" to maximize the
icing to cake ratio (it was ok)

Happy 80th Papa Garry. Speaking of February 14th, Steve's dad turned 80 on that day! Nanny Janet hosted a Zoom party on Sunday so that the families around the world could celebrate together. I sang a little song and Steve and the girls shared a few pictures. Then we all wished him a happy birthday in many different languages. Bonne Fête, Garry!

Super Bowl Scrapbooking

I forgot to post about the Super Bowl. Better late than never!

We had a combined Birthday-Super Bowl party on February 4th since cousin Colin turned 7 that weekend. It worked out great since he's a big football fan.

An exciting game!

The three pictures above were actually planned out by Emily, since she has recently started scrapbooking! We found an old scrapbooking set at Great-Grandpa's apartment and Emily immediately picked it up. She decorates the pages, plans out the pictures, and writes a little summary. My job is to print the pictures for her so that she can complete her work. It's very cute!

(waiting for Mommy to print the pictures)

Perhaps she is inspired by my (online) scrapbooking skills ;). It's a fun hobby!

Super Bowl Sunday

The girls enjoyed camping out on the couch this evening, watching the Super Bowl with Daddy. Though Emily admitted that she preferred the commercials to the football. Steve and I put the girls to bed during halftime and then watched the (very eventful) second half of the game. I'm not a fan of football, but even I was feeling the stress during those final minutes!
