Mario Party!

Here are a few snapshots from Jessica's Mario Party. The kids had a blast playing in the basement and backyard, with a couple of breaks for snacks, cake, and presents.

The party was a big success, minus a friend's younger sibling who went a little crazy sometimes. Thankfully Grand-Maman was around to help out! Once everyone left, Jessi enjoyed looking through and playing with all her gifts.

Mario Party Prep

Jessica wanted a Mario-themed birthday party this year, which was (yet again) super fun and easy to work with! From Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, to coins, power stars, and mushrooms, to red, green, blue, and yellow -- there was no end to the inspirations.

But first, Jessi insisted on making her own invitations (she actually started them months ago). They turned out great!

The main items I worked on during the days leading up to the party was a themed birthday banner, "bricks and gloves" for smashing, and simple loot bags. The rest of the décor was just balloons, posters and toys (that the girls already had), and repositionable Mario wall stickers. Jessi had been wanting those stickers for months and patiently waited to receive them on her birthday.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

My baby turned 6 today! I think she really enjoyed being showered with attention both at home and at school. She started her special day with a few gifts from us and phone calls from her grandmas.

Steve baked some cookies for Jessi to bring to school to celebrate with her friends. She was also the 'special helper' in her class today, which always adds to the fun. When the girls got home from school, they worked together to paint Jessi's new wooden castle.

Updating the growth chart - she grew 3"!

Steve and I celebrated too by going out on a lunch date while the girls were at school. And there is still plenty of celebrating to come; Jessi has her friends party on Saturday, a family party on Sunday, and another family party the following weekend. Lucky girl!
