Steve and I are not big tourists; we like familiar surroundings, home-cooked meals, and hanging out around the house. This is why our honeymoon was perfect for us. We rented a vacation home on Vancouver Island and spent a week relaxing there. The house was right by the ocean near Sooke, BC (basically in the middle of nowhere).
On our way to the airport -- exhausted from the wedding celebrations!

We spent most of our days reading, going for walks, cooking/eating, relaxing, and watching the Summer Olympics!

I know, I know, super cheesy
Lots of reading
My reading material... Not pregnant yet, but planning!
We saw whales!
Fancy dinner in Sooke, BC
After our week at the vacation home we took the ferry to the city of Vancouver and spent a few days there. This was our second time visiting Vancouver's West End (we loved it so much the first time we had to go back!).

Romantic dinner in the city
Steve's uncle (who lived in the area) convinced us to do something we probably would have never done -- go kayaking! We had a blast in our tandem kayak, paddling around Stanley Park and English Bay. Overall, our honeymoon was a wonderful, romantic, and fun trip!

Typical: Steve working hard while I take pictures! This makes me laugh every time I see it.
