PJ Party - Round 2!

Jessi's wish was a pyjama party with her friends to celebrate her 8th birthday. Easy peasy! Emily's PJ Party from three years ago was a hit, so we knew we could do it again. Instead of sewing overnight bags, this year I decided to make eye covers for the kids.

Add Christmas lights, a pillowcase sewing project for the kids to do, and a darkened basement with giant balloons and a bouncy castle, and you have a party!

PARTY TIME!

Homemade popcorn: always a hit

For the pillowcase project, the kids could experience "sewing" with the machine -- they would push the pedal while I guided the fabric. It was a simple and quick thing to make. I had other steps for the kids to do (zig-zag cutting and ironing), but they weren't so interested in that so I just finished the pillowcases for them after the sewing part. Not a total success, but a cute take-home gift anyway!

And Then She Was Eight

Happy birthday Jessica! Your sister and I woke up early this morning to wrap your presents:

Only to have you wake up a few minutes later and open them all up!

You were thrilled with your new puzzle, art kit, watch, and wooden snake.

In lieu of a real snake
(which you want but the rest of us don't)

Your day was filled with birthday traditions and the food you love most: pancakes for breakfast, Costco ice cream for treat, grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, and plain pasta for dinner. You did arts and crafts with your Mommy, outdoor play time with your sister, and batter-testing and video games with your Daddy. And don't forget the traditional growth-chart updates and Mommy-daughter picture. What a day!

Meanwhile, Emily went to a rock climbing morning camp!

Love my girls!

And lucky for you Jessi, you even got to celebrate with your friends this evening at your Pyjama Party (post coming next!).

Happy 8th, baby girl!
We love you to the moon and back xox.
