Charleston Lake 2019

Today we checked out my sister's campsite at Charleston Lake, our third year visiting them and reliving my childhood memories. My sister and Albert were actually away most of the day, but we had a great time hanging out with Lorelei, Caleb, and their stand-in parents (Grand-Maman and Grand-Papa!).

A little rest and relaxation...

After some time at the beach, Grand-Papa gave the girls their first experience with fishing!

We didn't catch any fish, but I did manage to catch a frog for my little frog lover and spot a couple snakes for my little snake lover!

Lunch time!

After lunch we got our bathing suits back on and were going to try some canoeing, but it suddenly started to rain...

Quick, get in the tent!

Hiding out in the tent was all fun and games until we heard a loud crack of thunder. The kids were all pretty frightened and bothered by the noise! Thank goodness we weren't out in the canoe when the storm came...

Looking pretty bad out there

Fortunately the sun came back!

When the sun came out we splashed in a few puddles and then enjoyed visiting the Discovery Centre before heading back home.

Happy to see her snake friend

Thanks for the memories, Charleston Lake!

Happy Birthday Luddy & Lemmy!

When we bought our guinea pigs last August, the pet store told us the boys were about 4 weeks old. The store didn't know their official birthdays, so we made one up: July 18, 2018. That means Luddy and Lemmy turned ONE on Thursday!

We started the day with our usual guinea pig chores:

1. Cleaning the cage

2. Refilling their water bottles

3. Chopping veggies for the day

To celebrate their birthday, we made a special "cake" out of the day's veggies.

Episode 26: The Guinea Pigs' First Birthday

Happy birthday, boys!

Making the cake was so much fun that we made another one at lunch time.

The rest of our day was pretty busy; Steve and the girls had hair appointments, and then we went to Picton to visit Steve's cousins for a BBQ/pool party.

Before and After!

New 'dos

The girls love taking the ferry to Prince Edward County. Quite the scenic route!

Glassy water

A roof that is loved by the birds!

We wasted no time getting into the cousins' pool and had fun catching up with everyone, meeting Simon and Lindsey's little baby girl, and playing around the yard.

3, 2, 1, jump!

Hot fun in the summertime!
