Bowling Party!

It was Jessi's turn to try bowling for the first time; last weekend she was invited to a birthday party at Cloverleaf Lanes.

Jessi's turn!

It was 5-pin bowling, which made it easier for the young ones to hold and throw the ball! Thankfully they also put the gutter rails up -- otherwise barely a single pin would have been hit! ;)

Jessi was hesitant at first, but once she gave it a try and stopped caring about "being good at it", she thought it was pretty fun.

The kids eventually got tired of waiting for their turns, so they headed to the arcade behind us and pretended to play the games until their names were called. It worked out pretty well!

Happy 7th birthday Olivia!

No, not like that! :)

After 2.5 hours at the bowling alley, Jessi was still having fun and didn't want to leave! We'll have to make a family trip out there one day.

Winter Wonderland

We had our first official snowfall yesterday! Emily couldn't wait to go out and play; she threw on her winter gear and headed out at 6:30am.

Jessi woke up a bit later and joined her sister by 6:45am! Ha. They had a blast making snow angels, building a "snow mountain", and exploring the yard as the sun came up.

My view from the living room

After breakfast and TV, we all went out again for some sledding. It was nice that the first snowy day was on a weekend!

So cute!

We tried sledding a second time in the afternoon, but that was a bit of a flop. The snow had melted a bit so the hills were slow and wet, the girls' hands got cold from their soaked mittens, and then they started arguing over the same sled. Such is life!

At least Jessi took the opportunity to build her first snowman of the season.

School Photos

The girls' school photos came in a couple of weeks ago. Sweet smiles on both of them!

Book List #9

I normally post my book lists in December and June, but since both of those months tend to be busy (with a lot of blog posts!), I'm going to start posting my book lists in November and May instead. Here are all the books I've read since June (13 novels in 5 months):

I wouldn't put any of these books on a 'must read' list, though most were decent and/or entertaining. My least favourite of the bunch was Dorothy Must Die -- not my cup of tea!
