We did some hamster-sitting last week because the Paschkowiaks were camping at Charleston Lake! It was a small reminder of caring for our beloved guinea pigs.
We joined the campers for a day trip as usual, though this time we skipped the swimming and stayed for dinner instead of lunch. We were grateful for the lack of mosquitoes, but a bit saddened by a squirrel chewing through our cooler backpack and stealing some chocolate. Ha! The highlight was having campfire s'mores for the first time since 2019. A lovely afternoon!
And that was not the only Paschkowiak event of the week. On July 2nd we gathered to celebrate Caleb's 11th birthday! We went out for dinner (a rarity with our family) to the Birthday Boy's restaurant of choice: East Side Mario's. A treat!
