C'est l'Halloween!

Oops -- I burned them!

The girls each picked their pumpkin design

Emily tried trick-or-treating for the first time this year. We went to our neighbour's house first since Emily is somewhat familiar with them. Unfortunately, they had a noisy witch decoration that scared her... She kept it together long enough to get the chocolate and chips, but then she started walking away and crying, saying "I just want to be all done." And that was it! We tried to focus on the "fun" parts of her experience, then sat on the stairs and ate candy.

Jessica thinks she can fly :)

Happy Halloween from Nathalieland!

3-Day Celebration

Steve was showered with love this year and had three days of celebrating his 29th birthday. Here's a photo recap of our cake-filled days.

Day 1 - Dinner, presents, and cake at my parents'

Day 2 - Dinner, cake, and presents at Steve's brother's house

The "Singing Adventurers" singing Happy Birthday to Uncle Steve

Day 3 - Family time, presents, and cake on his actual birthday

The best kind of wrapping paper is the one made with love :)

While they're hard at work...

Until it's time to test the batter!
These girls LOVE their batter

Happy Birthday Dear Daddy

I think Emily enjoyed the birthday celebrations the most, since she got to help with unwrapping presents, blowing out candles, and eating all that cake!

Happy birthday Daddy!! You're number one!

Weekly Update - Weather/School/HalloweenCraft

Unseasonably Warm. The weather went from being winter-coat cold to t-shirt-and-sandals warm last week. What a treat! We took advantage of it as much as we could by heading to the park (sometimes twice a day), going for walks, and playing with the leaves. I wish the weather could be like this every day of the year!

School Break. Things have not been going well with Emily's school visits. She's not clicking with the teacher, but the teacher keeps pushing and trying to connect. Emily just ends up in tears for most of the visit even though Steve is with her. Pressure and proximity are not the way to Emily's heart! (She needs time, space, and understanding). Anyways, Steve and the teacher agreed that we should take a break from school for now, which is fine considering Emily still has a long way to go with potty training. We've started looking into other options to see if we can find a better fit for Emily.

Peter Pumpkin Head. Here's a fun Halloween craft idea I got from Amy's blog. Using just orange and black felt, scissors, and some cookie-cutter shapes, I made this pumpkin head for the girls to "carve". They love making faces or just silly random designs on their pumpkin head. I even bought some extra felt to make a Christmas tree version for Christmas time. Yay!

My Shopping Trip With Mommy

by Emily.

Today my Mommy and I went shopping for a birthday present for Daddy. It's his birthday on Tuesday!

It was just Mommy and me. Daddy and Jessi were not invited.

After Mommy took this picture I decided I should be the one to capture our fun adventure...

 This is my mouth.

This is my shoe.

And this is my view from the car...

We went to Old Navy.

I love this dog!

That's me there. The one with the hat.

This is the "Daddy mannequin".
He's my favourite because he looks just like my Daddy.

Mommy thinks so too.
Sometimes she really embarrasses me...

We may or may not have bought this shirt for Daddy.
It's a surprise Daddy so I can't tell!

Then I saw these lunch boxes.

So I took a shopping/photography break so I could play with them.

I was all done taking pictures so Mommy took over from there.
I browsed for more shirts...

And did some colouring in the kids' section.

We bought Daddy's present (and myself a colouring book!) and then we walked to Michael's.

But first I hugged this post.

I love Michael's. They have so many cool things to see and touch and play with. I was too busy having fun to take pictures!

I really enjoyed my shopping with Mommy and I think she did too. I hope we can do it again some time!
