Paschkowiak Oktoberfest. A couple weeks ago we dressed up in our traditional German attire for my sister's Oktoberfest party. It was a fun time with family, friends, and good food! And a nice prelude to Uncle Albert's birthday.
Community Art Classes. I'll be busy over the next three months, taking community art classes at Queen's University. I signed up for three consecutive courses, each running two nights a week for three weeks. In preparation I've been sketching some portraits and definitely have some creative juices flowing. In our first class on Tuesday, Mixed Media Portraiture, we watched our teacher demo how to paint a black and white portrait from a photograph using fiber paste, acrylic paint, charcoal, and chalk pencils. Tonight we will start our own paintings! Drawing from the Model will run in November and Figurative Art from Photographs will be in December. I'm looking forward to learning some new techniques and creating unique works of art!

Hello Fall. The days are colder and shorter, the coats have come out, and the leaves are changing. I miss summer already!
