Nathalieland Update - Cooking/Summer/Cats/Fathers

Learning to Cook. Although the girls have known how to cook plain pasta, grilled cheese sandwiches, and eggs for a while, we decided it was time for them to learn more recipes and skills in the kitchen. That's one of our goals for this summer, especially for Emily, since in a year she might be on her way to University in a different city!

Summer Mode. We are already enjoying our relaxing days at home. Our typical family activities include walks around the neighbourhood, reading on the deck, board games, and watching The Office. Separately Emily can be found coding on Scratch, Jessi crocheting and embroidering, Steve playing piano and coding, me painting and gardening.

Cat Cuddling. Jessi has started volunteering at the Kingston Humane Society. Her official title is "Cat Cuddler" since her only duty is to go around to the cat enclosures and pet/play/cuddle with them. Not a bad way to spend an hour! She often goes with a friend and loves it.

Postponed Father's Day. Here are a couple of pictures from Steve's 10K race as well as snapshots from our delayed Father's Day! So much better with him ♥.

Father's Day Without Father

It was not a typical Father's Day in Nathalieland this year! Steve left us on Saturday to join his friend Aaron in Kitchener (and visit his mom in Cambridge on the way) and run in a 10K race on Sunday. We stayed in touch through texting and FaceTime calls, but Father's Day was not quite the same without him.

All tired after his race
(He ran a 44:48 10K, accomplishing his goal!)

We still had a nice time celebrating two other dads in our lives -- Grand-Papa and Uncle Albert -- with thoughtful cards, small gifts, a nice dinner, and yummy dessert.

Cousins twinning by accident ♥

Happily, Steve is on his way home now! And we'll have a delayed Father's Day celebration with him next Sunday.

Happy Father's Day! ♥

Father's Day 2025

It was a Happy Father's Day in Nathalieland! Cards, chocolate, walks, video games, karaoke, sunshine, and family time. ♥

We love you, Dads!
