Nathalieland Update - Aaron/Cousins/Jessi/Maggie

March Visitors. Aside from my birthday and our trip to Las Vegas, we had a pretty busy month! Steve's friend Aaron & family visited us at the end of the March Break. We also had a visit with our Vancouver friends and a family get-together to celebrate the March birthdays. Lots of games and food!

Fun with Cousins. The girls did an Escape Room with their cousins recently. It's fun to see them enjoy each other's company so much. They're already looking for another activity to do together -- maybe laser tag or bowling?

All About Jessi. Jessi had such a busy month! On the list of priorities was: designing a Yearbook cover, reading Sunrise on the Reaping (the new Hunger Games book), completing many assignments, and participating in this year's Science Fair. She's so relieved that the month is over.

Better Late Than Never. We got Emily's school photo back in November; now we finally have Jessi's! She wasn't thrilled with her attempt at a closed-mouth smile, but it beat the retake photo of her when she had pneumonia.

Grade 8

Maggie Love. Maggie sure loves her Uncle Steve! And we love when she visits! Good news is: Maggie's little sister will be joining us soon ♥.

Las Vegas - Miscellaneous & Flying Home

Day 6

On our last full day in Vegas, we did another hike in Red Rock Canyon, though this time we checked out the free trails off the Red Spring parking lot: Calico Basin and Red Spring Boardwalk. We (my knee) appreciated the easier hike and the mountain views were still fantastic.

At one point during the hike we came to this huge, climbable rock and had some fun. Speaking of climbing, the mountains had several groups of rock climbers heading up with their ropes and gear. It was neat (and a bit scary) to see!

Our breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all at our Vrbo; we were on a mission to eat everything we had left (success!). The food and meal time situation in Vegas ended up being perfect for us.

The afternoon was spent doing the 'last' of everything: last time playing pool, playing Scrabble, going for a walk around the neighbourhood, and spending time in the hot tub. Then after dinner we did an Escape Room and took a few pictures with the Las Vegas sign. Just the right ending!

Fun fact: there was a pomegranate tree in our backyard! Too bad it wasn't the right season.

Day 7

After realizing that I had taken over 1,000 pictures on our trip, I decided to challenge myself and not take any pictures on our departure day. We woke up, had breakfast, packed, returned our rental car, flew and then drove home without any issues. It was a long but easy day! Jessi sat at the window seat, so she took a few pictures of the view, where you can see the Strip and Allegiant Stadium, followed by our dull, wintery landscapes. Ha! Thanks Jessi!

What a great trip overall! It already has me thinking about our next one (to who-knows-where). Thanks for the memories, Vegas!
