Steve! Halloween!

The last two days of October are always the best: Steve's birthday followed by Halloween. Steve turned 40 and we celebrated with his family last weekend and my family on Sunday.

We kept things simple on Steve's birthday with a couple of cards and small gifts. This guy doesn't need much to know that he is loved.

Finally, it was time for Halloween and all the fun that it offers! This year Jessi dressed up as Christine Daae from the Phantom of the Opera, and Emily paired up with her friend Kassie to be a doctor and a patient. It was a chilly day, but everyone had a great time.

p.s. It was indeed a cold night: just 1.5 hours after trick-or-treating we had snow!

Nathalieland Update - School/Scrabble/Crochet

School Photos. It didn't take long for Picture Day to arrive at the girls' schools this year! Big smiles all around.

Human Scrabble Project. Steve and I are playing in an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament this weekend, and since it's so close to Halloween, all the teams dress up for fun. Our team will be "Human Scrabble", with each player having letter tiles on the front and back of their shirts. I happily took on this project and spent an entire week working on it! I'm so glad with how it turned out.

Lean Mean Crocheting Machine. I'm not the only one who's a crafting fanatic. As soon as Jessi completes one crochet project, she's on to the next one. She's even made a couple of items of her own design (a doll and a bunch of grapes). Her most recent project is making our house look very festive!  

Adventures in Saskatoon

I just got back from a 5-day trip to visit my dear friend Sarah in Saskatoon! It was such a treat to spend time chatting, walking, eating, playing (with Tess!), and getting to know the city she moved to six years ago. This was also my first-ever solo trip and the longest I've been away from the kids. Quite the adventure!
