Steve & Halloween

It's two straight days of fun at the end of October with Steve's birthday and Halloween! Steve celebrated turning 42 with cards, presents, lava cakes and a pizza dinner. We also had swimming lessons and parent-teacher interviews that evening, so the girls were in charge of carving pumpkins while we were busy.

Both girls had plans with their friends for Halloween that included group costumes, trick-or-treating, and sleepovers. The weather was cold and rainy, but they made the best of it!

Halloween photo dump!

This was our first Halloween where Steve and I didn't go out with the kids and Jessi was at a friend's house! It was different, but still fun. Emily and Kassie made it back just in time to sort through their candy and hand out the rejects (Steve and I were about to run out).

Jessi had a great time with her bff! Thankfully her mom sent me a couple of pictures.

Steve! Halloween!

The last two days of October are always the best: Steve's birthday followed by Halloween. Steve turned 40 and we celebrated with his family last weekend and my family on Sunday.

We kept things simple on Steve's birthday with a couple of cards and small gifts. This guy doesn't need much to know that he is loved.

Finally, it was time for Halloween and all the fun that it offers! This year Jessi dressed up as Christine Daae from the Phantom of the Opera, and Emily paired up with her friend Kassie to be a doctor and a patient. It was a chilly day, but everyone had a great time.

p.s. It was indeed a cold night: just 1.5 hours after trick-or-treating we had snow!
