Nathalieland - Year In Review

This Year In Review post will be different than those in the past. Mostly out of laziness, but also because I'd recently written a poem summarizing our year (for a faraway-family Christmas-Zoom gathering). So rather than a monthly list of major events, here are some rhyming stanzas:

2023 - A Paul Poem

'Twas the year '23
And with the Paul crew
There were ups, there were downs
Let me share them with you

Emily got braces
To fix up her bite
Now a retainer is in
To make her jaw right

In all types of weather
Nat got the award
For most improved player

In the school's Charlotte's Web
Emily cast as the spider
And Jessi as Wilbur
Sang right along side her

Cayman Islands was our trip
And we had a great time
But while we were gone
We were victims of crime

Our car was stolen
Our house broken into
But it wasn't all lost
Our neighbours pulled through

The thieves interrupted
Was all that resulted

But more sad news
Our pet guinea pig died
Lemmy was loved
We hugged and we cried

Then this Fall both girls went
To separate new schools
They are happy and learning
And follow the rules

Steve still plays poker
I guess that's his job
In the summer World Series
He met Boston Rob!

Who is that? You might wonder
It's a character we know
From the cast of Survivor
Still our favourite show

Some other cool things:
Emily graduated 8th grade
Steve jumped out of a plane
And Jessi crocheted

Nat and Steve turned 40
So they're over the hill

And that was our year!
We look forward to more
In 2024

Happy New Year!

Attempt at Background Change

I'm trying to create my own blogger background. Let's see how it goes! This is the image I'd like to use:

The blue wood image comes from My Free Textures.

Christmas Day 2023

Another wonderful Christmas in the books! We especially enjoyed hosting Kirsten, Kenny, and Maggie for three days, giving us lots of bonding time with the little miss.

 Merry Christmas from Nathalieland!
