Bring Out the Blades

Last month as the weather started warming up, the girls decided to bring their rollerblades out of storage. It didn't take long for them to remember the skills they acquired last year. A bit of rollerblading around the kitchen, dining room and hallways did the trick!

Episode 31: The Rollerblade Spin Move

Since then the girls have gone out rollerblading at the park several times with their friends. From winter skating to spring rollerblading... always on the move!

Nathalieland Update - School/Hair/Rollerblades

School Pictures. Due to COVID, the girls' school pictures were postponed and rescheduled a bunch of times this year! They finally happened last month and we now have prints of our beautiful girls to remember grades 6 and 4.

Haircut Trouble. On another COVID-related note, we had a haircut fiasco two weeks ago when I accidentally started cutting Steve's hair without the guard on! It left a very short patch on the back of his head (we couldn't bring ourselves to cut it all at that length). On the plus side, it was cold last week so Steve was able to cover his head whenever he was outside. On Sunday I re-trimmed his hair and it's looking much better already. We had a good laugh about it (and quite a few apologies from me). I couldn't bring myself to take a picture right when it happened, so I took one a week later instead, right before the second cut.

One week after the 'incident'

It's like it never happened... ;)

Rollerblades for All. Steve was feeling left out of our rollerblading fun, so he got himself a pair too. The girls are still going strong, rollerblading around the neighbourhood or park every day. We are making some great family memories. ♥

That's one tall man on rollerblades!

Easter 2021

We began our Easter morning in the same way we have for years: a hunt for chocolate eggs and Easter baskets. It took the girls about 10 minutes to find all 65 eggs hidden on the main floor.

I see some baskets!

This year's Easter baskets were pretty empty, but they held a clue for where else to search (the note being a reference to The Simpsons).

"He must mean trunk"

The girls looked in the trunk to find...

... some rollerblades!

Since our winter skating experience went so well, we decided Emily and Jessi might like to try summer skating -- on rollerblades! The girls immediately put them on and strolled around the house for a while, getting used to the motions.

Back when I had bought their rollerblades, I tried them out myself, just for fun. I enjoyed them so much that I decided to get a pair of my own!

Other than rollerblading (indoors and outdoors) all day, we visited my parents' backyard for another Easter egg hunt. Just like last year, we missed celebrating with our cousins, but at least the sun was shining!

A little scroll saw gift

These girls know how to have fun: rubber snakes + sand + water + throw + catch. Repeat!

Happy Easter!
