Mother's Day 2026

This Mother's Day looked a lot like last year's, with the bonus of getting my Chocxo chocolate! Jessi's crocheted substitute still resides in our treat drawer ♥. It was a beautiful day filled with all the things I love most!

Because it's more fun when you make silly faces ♥

Mother's Day 2025

Another lovely Mother's Day in the books! Steve and the girls know the way to my heart with handmade cards and chocolate. After I jokingly said to Steve the other day, "but where's my Chocxo?" (a favourite chocolate treat Costco used to sell that we can't find anymore), Jessi surprised me with a crocheted version on Sunday.

Almost as good as the real thing :)

Also on the Mother's Day agenda: a couple of walks around the neighbourhood, a sweaty sauna session, an updated portrait with my girls, and dinner with my sister's family. We only missed seeing my parents, who are visiting family in Germany. Thankfully we fit in a virtual chat with them.

Look at the difference that just three years can make:

2022 vs. 2025

Nathalieland Update - Mom/Friends/Frisbee/Gym/Crochet

Happy Mother's Day. I had a beautiful Mother's Day weekend, minus cutting my big toe pretty badly on Saturday morning (no running or frisbee for at least a week). A handmade card, a picture with my girls, and dinner with the family cheered me up.

Social Girls. Jessi and Emily are keeping busy with friends and outings, which is always fun to see. Jessi's made a great friend at her new school. They have lots in common, including crocheting and frisbee. Emily went to her second school dance a couple of weeks ago and had fun at her bff's birthday party last week, staying out past 10:00pm both nights!

Spring & Summer Frisbee. Steve and I had a great time playing in Kingston Ultimate's Hat League this spring. We played our last game yesterday (well Steve did. I cheered from the sidelines -- see toe above), going undefeated all season. Next up is the Summer League, which starts next week. I also tried out for Kingston's Masters Team (ages 30+) and made their alternate roster! That means I get to practice with the team for 2 hours every week and might get to attend a couple of tournaments this summer (but really, I'm just in it for the practice).

New Gym Equipment. Speaking of frisbee, Steve and I are always working to improve our fitness and speed, making sure we get a couple of leg workouts each week. We recently purchased a Nordic Hyper GHD for our home gym that will help with that! We follow a lot of Ben Patrick's (@TheKneesovertoesguy) exercise routines so we are thrilled to have this piece of equipment to do Nordics, Back Extensions, and QL raises. Two thumbs up so far!

Crocheted Cuties. Here are a couple of Jessi's latest creations: Lemmy and Ludy (complete with Ludy's ripped ear) and an art project for school. She's also been working on a shirt and is so close to being done. She's been following a pattern from YouTube and is anxious to see how it fits!

Lots going on in Nathalieland!
