Bonne Fête Grand-Papa!

Our dear Grand-Papa turned 76 yesterday -- the mirror image of Grand-Maman's 67 years! What better way to celebrate than with handmade cards, presents, fondue, and cake? It's the Thibodeau way.

Family Day Weekend

There was a lot to celebrate this long weekend: Valentine's Day, Papa Garry's Birthday, and Family Day! For us that meant chocolate treats, candlelit meals, karaoke time, handmade cards, and family walks. So nice!

Trying a new reduced-sugar recipe (good!)

Bahamas - Repeating & Departing

By our third day in the Bahamas, we felt like we'd seen and done it all. So we did it again! Touring, swimming, shopping, eating... Just enjoying the warmth, walks, and waves.

Episode 52: The Atlantis Aquarium

While checking out the final table location again, a couple offered to take a family picture. Yay! Happy 20th anniversary, Steve!!

We also made our way to the Atlantis Grand Ballroom, where the poker tournaments were held. The room has definitely been renovated in the last 20 years!

Steve and Emily went into the ocean for a swim. Eventually I decided to join them, only to immediately spot a sting ray! I was so grateful that I hadn't accidentally stepped on it or been stung -- that would have completely changed the mood of the day. Instead I switched to swimming laps in the heated (creature-free) pool.

Day 4 was Picture Per Hour Day which provided a good recap of our activities. It's really too bad the temperature dropped and the wind picked up on our last two days, but we made the best of it and knew it was still more comfortable than our Canadian weather. What wasn't pictured on that day is during a rest in Royal Towers we were joined by a family from New York, who showed us how to play Left, Centre, Right and told us to check out Dolphin Cay before we left.

Day 5 sunrise ♥

On our last day at Atlantis Paradise Island, we followed our "New York Friends" advice and checked out Dolphin Cay early in the morning. There we watched trainers as well as guests feed and interact with the dolphins. It was so fun and a lovely way to start the day!

After that we went for one final walk around the resort, saying goodbye to all the cool things we saw. We also got a great family picture in front of Royal Towers.

We checked out of our hotel at 11:00am and headed to the airport. What a smooth and easy trip!

Texting Happy Birthday to cousin Colin

Thanks for the beautiful memories, Bahamas!
